I would suggest a lot would depend on the way the game is being officiated.

In the three-point era, with the elimination of hand checks etc, those teams of white guys seem to have an awful lot of shooters...

The modern NBA absolutely rewards three-point shooting. So I guess I would say, it depends on how the game is being called.
