Toyota doesn't care, which is why the current Tundra is dated. But it doesn't matter because the drivetrain is solid, the engine is crazy reliable and people still pay top-dollar. It's a good strategy for Toyota.

In fact, I predict a run on the current "ancient" Tundra, because when they officially announce the new one is twin-turbo V6 only, traditionalists are going to sign up for the very last (and arguably most reliable) V8 version Toyota will make, and they won't be wrong....there is going to be teething problems with the new platform, there always is. So it's not going to be as reliable as the outgoing Tundra.
