Tacoma is "new" by Toyota Standards. Tundra, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and 4Runner all need new generations first. You
will probably get a mid-cycle refresh, but nothing more than that for another 5-6 years.
The third generation came out in 2016. The second generation was out from 2005 to 2016, so 11 years. Expect the new Tacoma in the 2026 time frame.
Toyota does not get involved in the chassis-redesign wars. They keep plugging along at what works and improving it as it goes, it's arguably part of their reliability strategy.
