These are different phenomena. Automation is nothing to be afraid of. There will

always be jobs if people want to work. That's been seen throughout the entire industrial revolution.

A minimum wage destroys jobs for the poor. That has also been the case with a price floor. A minimum wage is worse than most price floors though because it eliminates jobs that would provide an excellent education for the poor to advance to more lucrative jobs. Which 99.9% of minimum wage earners do.
