After much of the past 4 years, going on even a few before that with the "missed" opportunity of Taysom getting injured, I was starting to genuinely feel that BYU no longer had "it". Sloppy play, combined with what was incompetent coaching and an indifferent attitude at times on the field really put a damper on my fanhood. The contract extension that I severely disagreed with, it felt like the school just didn't care about winning.
I still partially feel this way, and in the back of my mind I'm hoping we're not cashing in on fool's gold of an NFL caliber QB in combination with a weak schedule that will turn to dust when he's gone next year. However, maybe just this once (who am I kidding, for the millionth time) I'll cheer loud and be happy that BYU is back, our coaches have made it over the learning curve and it's smooth sailing from here till P5 inclusion!
