...still like the idea of simply using the Google Home Hub technology/device and installing it in place of the Nutone intercoms. This would allow you to have the Google Assistant, touch-screen displays, and the ability to speak to the hubs, control other WiFi devices, etc.
I saw a YouTube video showing a wall installation idea for the Google Home Hub (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TSPIkkLBUI&t=376s), which is generally what I'm thinking about. The video does a good job, but I still don't fully understand how they're using CAT5 for power. (Also, older homes with the Nutone intercoms likely lack CAT5 throughout the home...wonder how hard to run that through the house and create a central CAT5 hub somewhere in the house.)
Still, the Brilliant technology looks impressive. I just wonder if it would be easier (and easier to upgrade) if you could just power the Google Home Hub with the same existing wiring for the Nutone intercoms and wall mount the Home Hub in the existing space.
