There are only two teams Utah played that finished the year ranked, USC and Oregon. Utah lost to both of them. The on-field results strongly suggest Utah cannot win against good teams this year. If you want people to respect you, you are going to have to play and beat strong teams. I would strongly suggest Utah beat TX in the Alamo Bowl, or it will be a very long off-season in Salt Lake.
