there isn’t any evidence they are more than that. I personally think they’re a top 20 team but there isn’t any real proof of that it is just my opinion.

The question about Utah this year is if they had such a successful year mainly because the pac12 is so down this year and they just happened to have their best talent, although still not stellar, and so they had little competition, or if they really did have a great team but were just unlucky that the rest of the pac12 was so weak and will always be questioned as to how good they actually are because of the crap competition much like BYU in 1984.

It is possible that a team can be great and play crappy competition, I think Clemson is proof of that, but if that team doesn’t get a chance to play at least a couple of really good teams they will always have the asterisk.

My honest take, Utah was overrated when they were in the top 5, probably even the top 10 was overrated, but they’re top 20 for sure and maybe even top 15.

If they lose their bowl game then they are top 20 at the very best.
