As a BYU alum who lives far outside of Provo, I always feel like a "marked man" because of my BYU affiliation. Usually people are very respectful of BYU, what it represents, and the standards to which its students adhere. I take great pride in that. Even though I understand that this email is meant to be a good-natured ribbing--and that is usually viewed as acceptable in the sporting/rivalry world--I agree with ATLcoug that we need to be very careful of what impression we give off to others. That's one of the things that I think Coach Mendenhall is doing so well as head coach--he is careful to help the players (and the fans) appropriately balance success, confidence, humility, and character. That's an example I personally would like to follow better.

With that said, I hope Beck & Co. come out hot and put up 40 on the Pokes! Along with the stingy BYU D, that should be another good BYU home blowout!
