he's focused on winning in the trenches/front 7 (because that's a place BYU can recruit talent similar to the big boys) and then supplementing with some under the radar athletes in the secondary.
The defense is pretty decent now that the personnel are (mostly) in place IMO. (I get much of CB disagrees with me but I don't think those disagreements are well-founded-- our D has objectively done well limiting points this season).
I think Kalani will have success when/as and if he figures out or finds the right guy for the offense.
