Ugh. Jarom starting by calling Ty "the last non-P5 winner of the Heisman..."
There was no P5 in 1990. It's an anachronism and knowing that and knowing why is key to understanding why the structure is now so stupid and inequitable.
The year Ty won the Heisman the following teams shared one conference: Arkansas, Houston, Rice, Texas, and Baylor.
Meanwhile in the Big East, Temple would be added the year after.
