ANY other program in major college sports. With the obligatory preface that there are thousands of great people who are Ute fans, thousands that are good Mormons, and thousands of non-Mormons who are perfectly cool with Mormons - so settle down CB Ute fans, most of you guys are swell.

But it's also true that there are thousands of Ute fans (plenty of them ex or lapsed LDS) who define themselves by their hostility and dislike for Mormonism and / or Mormons. And that leaking over into how they handle the rivalry is a real thing.

If there's anything comparable in the rest of the CFB world, no idea what it would be. There is no FBS program with a sizable percentage of their fan base whose rivalry animosity is fueled in part by religious or identity-based animosity. Notre Dame doesn't have any major rivals whose fans just can't stand Catholics.

Let me know if I'm overlooking any, but I don't think there is - and I think it contributes to the crazy in their fan base.
