Very rare to see kids at the highest levels go all-out for their team. It all just feels so businesslike with well-off parents calculating how to get their kids a scholarship. Not that they need the scholarship $, but just for the prestige in the eyes of their peers.
And if there is a little Suarez (who will do whatever it takes to win) growing up here, he’s probably playing for his local Hispanic team that doesn’t have access to the leagues that USMNT scouts typically visit. Either that or he feels greater loyalty to El Tri and ends up playing down there anyway.
