I’m not in food service, but while the work is neither difficult or physically
or intellectually demanding, there are enough variables and enough time pressure in play that it’s really easy to make mistakes unless good processes are in place (and closely followed) to reduce them and make it easier to consistently get things right.

Any time you ask a fast food place to customize your order, you’re increasing the odds of an error, because their systems are built around standard work and velocity.
