Small venue. Pretty sure they wanted the check but otherwise did not want anything to do with it, and it showed. They had two songs anyone knew, which they played up front. After that, it became a contest of who cared less about their performance—the audience or the band.

Third Eye Blind did a similar gig I got to see, and they were terrific.
