When he and Sitaki showed up, I expected some version of a Utah-like defense. Four man front, more man to man on the backend - and always pressure.
So I keep asking myself - does BYU just not have the personnel to do that yet? Utah gets good pressure from their front 4, but also sends in LB's and DB's from time to time to completely overwhelm and collapse an offense's protection and blocking.
BYU doesn't have great pressure from just the front 4 as yet. Is Tuiaki afraid to send more people due to lacking players who can man-up in the defensive backfield?
Or is BYU's defense about what we should expect it to be - rarely bringing more pressure than can be applied by the front 4.
I'm hoping that what we're seeing is an adaptation due to personnel - and that they are working towards more QB pressure in future seasons. Because I hate watching the QB sit back there with what seems like an eternity to throw sometimes.
