no way anyone should think we didn't:
(1) upgrade significantly with his hire.
(2) make a solid hire on paper. A guy we actually had to outbid a quality SEC program to get here.
(3) get a well respected man & coach.
(4) get "new blood" & "new ideas" onto our staff.
(5) get a guy who was knowingly favored & targeted by Kalani (for reasons I'm not privy to -- but would sure like to know; was Kalani a grad asst when Grimes was last here?).
(6) get a guy w/ a good many D1 personnel connections.
(7) get a seasoned recruiter who can appreciate the type of kid BYU wants.
(8) get an outsider who is nonetheless fully familiar with BYU's unique makeup.
(9) get -- not a long-term staff solution, likely -- but a clear-cut professional climber. A guy who would be welcome on any staff in the country.
(10) get a guy who should be fully trusted by anyone & everyone as a mentor of our kids.
Call me excited & hopeful. A total 180 turn from 12 hours ago.
