Not the booster part. I can believe that, but the "his hands are tied" part.
I didn't have a ton of connections with the last staff, but I do (did?) with this one. TH is a nice guy and a good cheerleader. He was able to get some things done on the back on the successful Bronco and Rose years, but he is a "yes man." He doesn't go to bat when the opposition is slinging fastballs at him. It's bit us in the butt in the independence era and it bit Ty now. A strong willed AD with a vision could have headed off the pressure and given Ty the third year he said he needed before he was ever hired.
I am firmly of the opinion that, while it may be too little too late, TH's time has come. He needs to go and BYU needs a visionary ala Rondo Fehlberg who knows how to work the unique system at BYU and is willing to do so.
