We are aiming high.
We are taking risks by being independent.
We are not settling for mediocrity in a G5 conference. Mediocrity in opponents. Mediocrity in exposure. Mediocrity in conference affiliation.
We are experiencing growing pains and people complain (they want the blanket of comfort a conference affords without realizing the move will be a large step backwards).
Vision and growth are the goals here. Patience needs to be used with everything from recruiting to scheduling to coaching.
Going back to a G5 conference admits defeat and signals that we've thrown in the towel on being a great program in exchange for just being a good program. BYU is trying to bang on the doors of the football powerhouses, and they're taking a difficult path to do that; however, it is one that I believe will allow us the quickest and best access to what our high goals.
I love that we aim high, and I completely disagree that we should just accept who we are.
No way.
Move that bar, and reach for the top; never give up the dream.
