I wouldn't characterize that as moving the ball at will. At will includes getting in the end zone. Utah plays a very obvious bend but don't break D against BYU. BYU has never broken that. They've relied purely on broken plays, desperate 4th down heaps or last minute plays to bail them out.
Even Utah's anemic offenses have gotten huge boosts from big special teams returns (like 2012) or from a big play, like Wynn to DVC or Dres in 2010 /2011 respectively.
Looking back at Utah's offenses in 2010, '11, '12 and '14 -- it's amazing BYU didn't take better advantage. That's the difference. Nothing in BYU's personnel has changed along those lines where Utah has only gotten better -- across all position groups
It's the last 3 years of back-to-back-to-back best ever recruiting gains where Utah has stepped forward at almost every position level. That's the problem.
