did as I was able to keep my number and not have to use a crappy 16 GB iPhone with tons of crap on it and no privacy. I remember the days when I used to look at a company phone as a perk, but I now think the best option is when they just reimburse you for your plan every month (I guess that's basically BYOD). I especially like that I can now control my upgrade cycle and timing and am no longer at the mercy of a totalitarian IT department. "Sure, go ahead and try to wield your power by giving me this crappy base model phone. I don't care because I won't use it!"
Another benefit of the separate phone was being able to ditch it when I truly didn't want to be bothered by work stuff and knowing that a distracting email wouldn't interrupt my weekend.
