over. It was a nice ride that led to a National Championship. Coach Edwards took a risk and tried something no one at the time was trying and the risk paid off. However, this is the 21st century, and BYU is not going to fool (especially upper P5 teams) anyone with that passing system from the 1980's anymore unless we get stellar recruits that can out-athleticize their opponents which won't happen unless BYU joins a P5 league at the very least, but even then BYU's culture may still make it difficult for that passing system to work as a P5 team. Stanford is in a P5 league and it hasn't worked much for them until they went pro-style. As long as we are independent, we need to accept power football, bootlegs, rollouts, and option style plays because with the right recruits in this system and a solid defense this can work against good teams and we can win, but expect 20-3, 18-16, or 28-10 type scores like we had against Cincinnati, Arizona, and Utah State.
