people only see the ugliest part.
I've driven the length of the state via I-80 many times, and if that's all there was to the state I'd hate on it too.
But such places like the Snowy Range, the Tetons, Yellowstone Park, the Snake River, the Bighorns make it worth it. Hiking and fishing the Wind Rivers is incredible, even better than doing the same in the High Uinta's. Hunting in the Bighorns, or the Gros Ventre Wilderness is amazing as well. Even hunting out on the high plains near Elk Mountain has it's charm.
I think because I've hunted in Wyoming so much I find a lot to love, but I understand others not liking it because it can be crazy cold (it's 2 degrees outside right now), crazy windy and there is a lot to be desired in the way of restaurants/shopping etc. But it also has amazing schools and no state income tax.
The people are pretty great too, both LDS on not. I've attended and been a part of some truly great wards in Wyoming. Having said that, I'm a lifelong BYU fan and have personally seen/been subjected to some nasty stuff at the hands of Wyoming fans.
Last of all, go Coug's. I hope we beat the 'Pokes so bad they count their blessings that they don't play us every year.
