To justify your point you use elaborate descriptions of why rules are okay in football but not soccer. You may not realize the irony because the intent and usually the result is the same.
In football, if you are faster you usually win the play. Same applies in soccer. Consider the pass from the teammate the "snap" of the ball. After that, fastest person wins. Or if you aren't fast enough you scheme to your advantage.
No doubt soccer can be mind-numbingly slow and boring at times. THe beauty is the fact that most games a broken play can change the tenor of the game at any point. Unless your team is up 7-0.
It takes time to get used to soccer, but the rules aren't all that different from football.
