Like Langi, Sae Tautu has also made the move from linebacker to defensive end in defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki’s new 4-3 scheme.
“We have to set the edge and make sure nothing gets outside. Our defensive backs are playing more man coverage and there’s a little more stress on them,” Tautu said. “So our primary job is to get to the quarterback. That’s why they had me and Harvey move from linebacker to the defensive line — our ability to come off the edge.”
What Langi lacks in experience, he makes up for in athleticism.
“He’s a really good football player. He’s a playmaker,” said Tautu. “I don’t think it matters where he is on the football field. He’s going to wreak havoc wherever he is.”
