after that bowl, the board was pretty adamant they would never pass on BYU again.
They had just upped the payouts after securing the PAC-10 commitment, and that first game they had big expectations, and they went on to have 3-4 years of terrible financial results (I think they were stuck with Utah, New Mexico and Wyo those years) and it was so far in the red the LVCA decided it was in their best interest to sell to ESPN.
The BYU and Boise State games were money makers for them and much better for the stakeholder businesses, I am sure they are salivating over a BYU possibility, but they have sold their souls to ESPN, so while they can cheerlead for BYU all they want, ESPN will call the shots.
The only scenario where I see BYU in vegas is if Utah somehow falls to the vegas bowl, which is a low probability at this point, but like most I am hoping for that scenario.
