He was saying strikeouts are more important that wins. I argued that is an asinine statement. That's like saying total yards is more important than wins in football. No one with an IQ above room temperature centigrade would even suggest that. The bottom line is WINNING. Period. LOL.
My points are this:
1. Arrieta has been the most consistent pitcher among ALL of the top pitching categories this season.
2. Arrieta is No. 2 in ERA and No. 1 in wins in all of baseball this season heading into September. This statement of fact alone bolsters my argument big time....even without all the other factors added in. One could argue those two individual statistics alone are the greatest determiners of Cy Young voting results.
3. Arrieta has been even more dominate in the last 2-3 months which has cemented his place. Over that time no one in baseball can touch him in wins or ERA.
You need a better definition of "straw man"
