Otherwise, it's pretty much a straight-across trade - one average team for another.
For me, my enjoyment of a televised college football game comes down to two things:
1) How well the program I'm watching meets or exceeds my expectations
2) Whether their brand of football is entertaining (for example, even though Alabama wins tons of games, every single year, I can't stand to watch them play - they're just so boring!)
Reason 1 is why I like following Utah State - whenever they win more than a couple of games, they've wildly overachieved
Reason 2 is why I like following Oregon, Baylor, Washington State, and Oklahoma State (and, to a lesser degree, USC - I still remember how fun it was to watch them during the Pete Carroll years, and Sark is bringing a little of that back)
Unfortunately, I feel like BYU is a perpetually under-achieves and a puts out a boring product. Even their best seasons from the last decade were marred by unfortunate blunders, and their soft "bend-but-don't-break" 3-4 and cookie-cutter hurry-up offense just make me yawn.
