I started when my daughter was about 2 years old. $50 a month. We have a big chunk we can use tax free for any college expense for any of my kids. One of the best investments I've made.

Our company (DC) uses one out of New Hampshire. You don't need one in your State

not true. California just doesn't give you a state deduction for contributions.

CA 529 is not tax deductible but there's a bill to make tax ded. AB 209
