I read most things with a skeptical eye. But I feel more confident when reading The Economist or the Wall Street Journal that I'm not reading poorly-sourced speculative schlock slung around by amateur muckrakers than I do when I'm on InfoWars or NaturalNews. Journalism is a profession, and there are ways to do it right and ways to do it wrong. That many journalists do a poor job does not mean that many amateurs can do it well.
