usually really big companies have to resort to dividends because they run out of ways to productively put to use the money they generate. This is why there haven't been companies the size of Apple before in market cap- they aren't creative enough to find ways to use the capital and just return it to shareholders as dividends and max out at some particular size.
Here Apple has managed to recently to simultaneously start paying dividends, increase its cash pile anyway, and increase revenue quickly, despite the original humongous numbers they were already doing.
What Apple is doing is literally unprecedented and your cheap shot is unwarranted and counter-factual.
