circumstances, when it comes to staley, in your analysis. you're throwing out "he didn't run between the tackles well" sort of stuff without any evidence except for production. but you're not taking into account the circumstances around his production.
you're also only giving credit to doman. if doman were so much part of it, then why didn't any of the other guys match his production? they didn't. not even close. my goodness, the guy averaged 8ypc! that's insane! ladanian tomlinson ran the option in college. do you down him for that, or just acknowledge that he was a great back? just because you're in an option offense, that doesn't mean that you'll be successful. and if it was such a great thing for staley, why don't you also acknowledge that unga benefitted from the offense that he was in. others matched his production, though on a lower scale.
