for good reference. People like what he's done, like who he is, but just lost hope that he can do anything more positive for BYU than he's been able to do. He's not even going to reach the peaks of his own past anymore. Its tough to convince yourself that we're going to get off of this plateau... If you can call it that... I'd call it more like a valley way up in the mountains. He took us up high, then dropped a bit for 5 years straight and stuck here.
Someone like him isn't taking BYU any higher.... Coming from someone who isn't on the fire Bronco wagon yet.
