He had 14 picks last year, many of them bad throws.
None of his 3 picks this year were bad throws, IMO:
- 1 in the back of the endzone to Houk during the Texas game where the DB made an amazing play.
- One that was batted up in the air at the line, and one that was in the hands of the receiver and was torn out in another great play by a DB -- both vs Houston.
No doubt that he needs to learn to go through his progression of reads much better, and work on his intermediate and long throws, but he was improved a decent amount over last year. That said, I had hoped he would be further along. Even if he comes back next year, his focus will be so much on rehabbing his leg/ankle that he won't get to focus as much on improving his throwing in the off-season.
