Last year was a fun schedule, but what does the future hold? 2014 has four P5 schools, here's their records from last year:
Cal - 1-11
Virginia 2-10
UCONN 3-9
Texas 8-5
Sure, it's exciting to see some new names on the schedule, and schools from big conferences. But, who is really excited to play teams that had a .400 record last year (and that's skewed way up because Texas didn't totally suck)? I don't see the schedules improving anytime soon, and would guess that the other P5s will release similar statements. Independence was a decent plan at the time, but college football has changed way too much in the past couple years and BYU is being left behind.
