We really take to heart his saying "live like no one else now, so you can live like no on else later." We put 15% of gross to retirement every month. Add that to 10% gross tithing, a house payment, and five kids and you have to be pretty frugal. It feels so nice to be debt free and have a six month emergency fund. We spent $400 total on Christmas for our (then) four kids, and they were completely happy. Our kids have their gymnastics, dance, baseball, etc., but it's all city rec stuff. We rarely eat out and keep vacations to free lodging (parent's home in St. George, etc.).
