No cable, buy used clothes, price match groceries, coach my own kids' sports teams so they can do it for free (I also do this in order to have the authority as the coach to shut obnoxious parents up and to protect the kid refs, so I would probably do this anyway).

Also, we save a ton of money by teaching our kids things ourselves instead of paying others. As an example, I teach my kids piano for the first year or two until it gets beyond my ability and then we pay for lessons, but we only pay for two lessons a month to save money, and instead I follow up with them every day on their practicing to make sure they are still progressing. It works well! It takes a lot more work on the part of the parent to do the follow-up on them so they don't slack in between the two weeks between lessons.

I do the same thing with sports. I teach them the basics of swimming, basketball, tennis, whatever, so they don't have to take lessons for the first couple of years. We do put them in soccer and baseball for the team aspect of that. This has been so awesome. My kids love the time with Dad, and really, there's no reason to pay money for something I can teach them myself. As a parent for this to work, you just have to be committed and schedule the time like you would regular sports practices to make sure you do it so the kids don't get the shaft.

We don't eat out unless we have a BOGO coupon. If we do, we split entrees.

Ride my bike to work so we are a one-car family. That saves a ton.

We do most of our own home repairs and remodeling, and my HCBW makes much of our own furniture and kids clothes (and does a great job! Amazing what you can do with a few youtube tutorials).

We grow and can/freeze a ton of our own fruits and veggies. With our new home and yard, we aren't planting any trees unless they produce fruit.
