When Whitt hired Brian Johnson, I felt it was a premature promotion (much like the Brandon Doman promotion). Knowing how fickle Ute fans are and how high their expectations are now, I said that it was only a matter of a few short years until Whitt found himself on the hot seat.
There is no doubt that Whitt puts together great defenses year after year, but by promoting a young, unproven and inexperienced offensive coordinator he basically thrust himself into the hot seat. Another season like 2012 of not going to a bowl game and you will see their fan base start screaming for his head. He can see this and is getting desperate to improve the offense.
The more info that keeps coming out about Anae, the more optimistic and excited I am about the future of BYU football and the offensive production. I can't wait to see the product he puts on the field.
