Been talking with my daughter trying to figure out this series. Am I on to something here?
Severance may be recreating the "Creation of Man"?
Helena Eagan is transformed back to "Helly R" right at the conference where she is to give a speech in support of being Severed. "The Severed Story".
However, in her midst is the lady at the birthing cabin. The now Helly R, in small talk, asks her: "How many children do you have"? And the lady responds: "I have three. I should have stopped at two. But, (she smiles at Helly R) I couldn't have done it without a lot of help". (Meaning, she was severed and didn't remember the tribulations of being pregnant and/or at least the birthing process.
Essentially, they seem to be testing the "severing process" to see if it can spare people of experiencing painful experiences. ie. the pains of the woman giving birth. Ms. Casey disassembling a crib knowing that she lost a baby, and to see if it caused her grief/pain. Mark, working there knowing his "wife was killed in a traffic accident" and then, presenting him face to face with his (now supposedly dead) wife...and no pain or anguish when he sees her.
Now...fast forward all this to the bigger picture.
Mark, Irving, Helly R and what's his name, are all severed, living in a state of innocence within their "world"...or office space.
They are unknowing of the greater world outside. They can't read of anything going on outside, can't speak of it, and live day by day in faith from what Ms. Cobel and Milkshake provide them. And they trust them implicitly what they say, is the absolute truth.
Lumon has set up Keir as some sort of savior type person. Going around the world doing good and saving humanity.
They have goats for sacrificing.
Are they recreating the Garden of Eden for man? Have they set themselves up as "Gods" and are controlling the innocent lives of "their people" and within their office space or "world" control their people’s lives as if they are their God?
Now...expand that to the woman giving birth? It CAN be implemented in the outside world. They can sever people so they don't experience painful experiences. If they can do that for the woman giving birth...then, they can do that for anyone and everyone …essentially could control their lives… and establish themselves as the God of this Earth over all “their” people. They could eventually control the innocent lives of everyone.
Huh???!!!! Am I on to the greater good of Keir here?
