poison. Let them pick us apart in the paint or force them to shoot threes and hope they don't have a great shooting night. If you run them off the three point line they would have been almost guaranteed to score 90+. If you force threes maybe you get a bad shooting night and they score 80 and we outscore them. Or you run the risk of them catching fire and setting a tournament record for threes. Unfortunately the latter happened but I still think it was probably the right strategy.
It's easy to say in hindsight that we should have abandoned the strategy when they started out hot. But that's like selling a stock when it dips. Probability is that they will come back to the mean so you should stay the course. Just didn't work out for us last night.
