I've googled it and looked at You tube but can't find anything exactly on point. I have a tiger eye sumac that I really like. If you have any you know they send shooters everywhere that pop up all around. I want to transplant one to a spot in our front yard. I tried last year and it died. I dug deep around it, got out as much of the root as possible and kept it really watered but it died.

Should I put it in a pot first and let it get strong before transferring it? That's what I've seen people do on videos with large ones, but these are basically shooters. Thanks.
