The 9 game win streak is filled with games BYU wasn’t supposed to win—and quite frankly, rarely seemed to win in the past.
Even the ISU game where one guy has a career night against the BYU, features two things BYU hasn’t done before: won anyway, and done so largely influenced on the contributions on bench players.
The easiest explanation seems to be KY. I hope so because that implies the success may continue, and the analytics are just lagging.
If the reason is something else however, then BYU’s rocket trajectory has peaked and will likely crash hard today against Houston.
Watching a very lackluster UH plod through the Colorado game yesterday gave me hope. I don’t see BYU losing if Houston plays like that again today.
I am baffled that the analytics don’t have a way to take BYU’s late season improvement into account. Seems they will likely remain underrated all through the big dance.
