I for one welcome lemon squeezing robot overlords at Chick-fil-a.
I worked at Chick-fil-a through High School and a short period after my mission. What a great company and a great job.
Squeezing the lemons was easily the least fun thing I ever did at Chick-fil-a. The machine was as whirling torture device. Your hands were always just wet enough that it was nearly impossible to hold the lemon long enough to get the juice out. If you had even the slightest cut or scrape on your hands you would find out very quickly as the juice infiltrated each one. That was before the machine more than double those hand cuts and scrapes. And gloves, wearing gloves? Forget about it, it was absolutely impossible to grip a half lemon with gloves on. Finally, despite best efforts of quality purchasing, there was always at least one moldy lemon, that stunk up the entire work space.
So yes, robotic lemon squeezers, we welcome you with open arms.
Also, the article claims to cut entry level jobs...but let's be honest the machine was so sketchy and challenging to use that they kept it to the very experienced and managers only. It was just too difficult for anyone else.
