Demin is our best point guard. Compared to this season Dallin Hall it isn’t close. He is a playmaker and facilitator but he needs the right players around him.

Keita needs to be on the floor with Demin. He is a rim runner and teams have to account for him anytime Demin is playing because he can get him the ball going to the hoop.

Knell needs to be on the floor with Demin. He is our only consistent spot up shooter and defenses can’t leave him because Demin will find him and get him open looks.

I think Catchings also needs to be on the floor with Demin for the same reason. Needs to attack the basket more.

Saunders would be the fifth because he can do it all. Also another player that can create a shot by getting to the rim.

There is your starting five.

Some players that should not be on the floor with Demin:

Hall-Needs the ball in his hands to create very much the same way Demin does. Doesn’t make sense to have them play together. Both are point guards and having one play out of positions doesn’t make any sense. Neither are a good enough spot up shooter to play the 2. This isn’t meant to criticize Hall. He would be a phenomenal back up point guard. He is best when he is attacking and passing.

Fouss-Fouss’ game is very important to our success offensively but only in spurts. We need to get him in the game, get him touches in the paint and get two or three easy buckets. One on one he can’t be stopped. If he is in the game for a long period of time then he is clogging up the paint and we probably aren’t flowing very well offensively. Ideally Fouss should have 3-5 shots per game. No more no less.

Baker-Baker needs to be on the court with the second unit. He is instant offense someone who can attack and score by himself. Gets into trouble when he forces things too much sometimes but when he gets in the game his mentality should be to go get buckets. Should be subbing in for Knell to give him breaks.

Mag-Mag should only be used for certain defensive matchups. Hasn’t shown that he has the offense to justify big minutes especially on a team that struggles offensively.

Boskovic-Should only be used if we need size. Would have been interested to see if we had brought him in to guard Williams if he could have gotten a stop. Could have used more length out there when our smalls were getting switched onto him.
