there is no scheme, coach and little player continue from last year. BYU seems to be better in personnel, but worse as a team. I hope that Demin and Catchings choose to come back for one more season to keep the core together (with Hall and Saunders).
The NBA-esque system doesn't seem to work with BYU's raw-ish talent – especially on defense. Also, players need to make plays. I know that the word 'execution' (in the sporting sense) gets mocked, but it is true. Players need to make FTs, box out, make the open 3 and stay in front of their man. The players need to step it up (and the coaching staff needs to put them in a position to succeed – scheme matching the talent).
Note: Pope's best BYU years seemed to be when he had returning pieces that understood his scheme. His current Kentucky team seems to be doing pretty well.
