It's crystal clear now what BYU needs to do to compete with the top teams in the B12.

---They've got to value the ball. They can't turn the ball over again and again like they did in the first 10 or 15 minutes of the game.

---They've got to rebound. BYU has been a good rebounding team, but they gave up 15 offensive rebounds today and were outrebounded overall by about 13 or so. You've got to block out on defense. Rebounding has to be a priority. Make the refs call the over-the-back call on the defensive boards.

---They've got to figure out how to get clean looks and make a decent percentage of them. Knell was 50%. Everyone else other than Hall (1/1) was bad. 33% overall from deep is not going to cut it.

---It seemed like BYU was surprised and unprepared for the physicality, speed, and athleticism of Houston. That should not have been a surprise. BYU has got to figure out how to effectively deal with that.

---Houston sets a high bar. Iowa State will be similar. Not sure if BYU can reach that level this year, but they can, and should, perform at a much higher level than they did today against teams with the level of talent that Houston has. There is a lot of work for BYU to do in the days/weeks to come. Hopefully, this will be a gut-check, and a painful learning experience, and not something that demoralizes the team. Still A LOT of the season in front of BYU. A lot will be determined by how the team and coaches respond to this embarrassing blowout.

I expected BYU to lose today, but I didn't expect them to get blown out by 30+. Gotta be better than that. I didn't have a chance to hear KY's post-game comments. What did he have to say?
