Are we going to adopt the Shaka as an official hand sign?
KS does it all the time, are we going to copy others around the nation?

We already have. And it was started by a member of the church. Not stealing.

We were by a Hawaiian tour guide told he was doing illegal dynamite fishing and had an accident. 🙂 the other story

That would be amazingly improbably to blow off only some fingers

I think it’s pretty common actually eg. Jason Pierre-Paul. I’m sure it depends on the size of the explosive, but

He blew off (some of) his fingers with an M-80. He wasn’t fishing, but I don’t think the fingers care if he’s fishing or

I think OP means copying others by merely having any hand sign at all. Because

It's a Y in ASL. how much more literal can we get?

But people (including Kalani) do the sign backwards, which makes it the Shaka.

The "true" sign is forwards/not backwards. If Kalani, as a Poly, throws up shaka

At the actual sporting events, we do it forwards.

The Y sign is NOT the shaka. It's "Y" in ASL, which is appropriate.
