we’re equal to Utah, AZ, Coastal fans and I’d have an easy time cheering against them. But, the many ASU fans I personally know from work and church are all good natured who are excited their team is doing well and readily admit that they haven’t had anything to really cheer for after September in many many years. They are hopeful and excited about this years success but never feel overly confident they’ll win any game. They are fans that that I have no problem cheering for their team to have success and give them something to cheer for.

So, overall, I’m cheering for ASU to win because it does impact the perception of the conference and subsequently BYU. But, it feels like I’m plugging my nose while doing so.
