and particularly New Year’s Eve?

Because to me, it’s always been a nothingburger of a holiday (I haven’t even stayed up to watch the ball drop since 2000).

In fact, other than getting New Year’s Day off and watching a couple of football games, I find it to be a very depressing holiday as it immediately precedes the dreariest stretch of the year.

But I suppose if you’re someone who likes to stay out late drinking and dancing, it’s probably a fun holiday. I’m just not at all that kind of person.
