Viewing the temple lights with my young adult children I decided to stop in at our local QT. Our kids were in another car so I called them and said to meet up at said QT… let’s just say I am not as polished as BYUFBDAD.

My wife and I walk in stroll around as we waited for our 4 kids to arrive. We were just looking around trying to buy time, the cashier kind of wondering what we were doing. After an exhaustive search I realized they didn’t have gift cards displayed so I asked if they had any and the cashier said sure… they are QT brand cards. I fumbled around with an answer as to why I didn’t want those. Then I saw a ATM so just decided well cash in good enough. So after wondering around the store waiting for our kids to show up, cashier kind of giving us the side eye, finally they show up. We kind of huddle up to discuss the course of action. We got some sodas and went up to pay and then give the cashier a couple hundred bucks for Christmas.

Well as smooth as I am I saunter up to the cashier to check out and I ask “So how many employees are working tonight?” The second I asked I noticed him get uncomfortable and I’m thinking what an idiot I am… the guy probably thinks I’m going to rob the joint lol. He stumbles around a little with the answer looking a little worried and says there were 3 of them total working. I the. quickly hand him the cash and say share it with your friends and have a Merry Christmas. After he kind of figured out he wasn’t getting robbed he was stoked and really appreciated it. Lol.

Well I’ve got to get my schtick together in order to have a little less awkward interactions going forward haha
